I started Afro Curlys in 2001 as a mobile braider while studying for my bachelor’s degree. I knew from onset I wanted to take it to the next level own a salon in Tokyo. So in 2004 I started enquiring how to own a salon in Japan. The requirement set me back but never gave up. In 2009 I took the first step in becoming licensed under the Japanese laws. After getting my licensed I had become so comfortable working as an ALT and braiding once in a while. I could still visualize how I wanted my business to be, but I didn’t know how to make it a reality. The longer time went by, the more I sort perfection. Until BBA came into the picture. BBA has given me the boost I needed to get out there even with uncertainties. With BBA am currently putting my plans and strategies in place. Now I feel that with all legal requirements fulfilled my business AfroCurlys will roll out soon as a legal entity not just a braiding spot. Also have support as and when I need it. I feel like a new woman – I’m liberating from worry and really excited to take Afro Curly to the next level.

I used BBA to build a website for my new business. There were some teething problems to start with but Wodran handled everything in a professional manner and she definitely has an eye for detail.
